Immersed in the world of the Afterlands, players can safely explore the consequences of their decisions, without fear of judgement, or a set of clear ‘right’ and ‘wrong’ answers.
In-built opportunities for goal setting and reflection promote application to personal situations as and when appropriate.
Structured opportunities for peer leadership roles
Is this just a game?
While this may look like a traditional board game (and it’s fine if young people think it is!), embedded within the content and game mechanics is years of work by psychologists, educators and young people. This ensures that, while fun to play, Dragons of Afterlands is offering opportunities for skill development and personal reflection throughout each game session.
From critically evaluating information to select an ally for a monster battle, to considering how their personalised dragon is feeling at key points, players are encouraged to explore the realms and upskill their dragons, to thrive across the Afterlands.
